Having health coverage makes it possible to access quality health services. Vita Health is a solution to affordable health coverage for individuals and families.

Unique Health Coverage

In 2006, the Florida Legislature recognized that a “significant proportion” of state resident were unable to obtain affordable health coverage. To create an affordable option, the Health Care District created Vita Health, a shared-cost heath coverage plan.

Vita Health is an affordable, quality health coverage option designed for individuals and families, single parents, workers whose employers do not offer health benefits and residents who are self-employed. As the only program of its kind, many employers have found it to be a viable solution to offering quality health benefits to their full and part-time employees. Vita Health currently enrolls about 2,000 members.
